The Official Site of the Cleveland Browns FansVan

You may have spotted it driving around town, traveling along I-77 on game day or tailgating at one of the parking lots around Cleveland Browns Stadium (now officially "First Energy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns"). If so, you may have asked yourself, "who are those guys" or "what's up with that thing" or even "I wonder where they tailgate". Well, we're going to tell you.

For the record, The FansVan is not affiliated with the Cleveland Browns in any official capacity. We're simply a group of guys who enjoy tailgating and who are committed to the support of the Cleveland Browns and the soft science of tailgating responsibly. You can find us at the Dock 20 lot directly west of the stadium. Feel free to drop in on one of our tailgates. We always enjoy meeting fellow Browns fans.

Update 7/16/2014:

We will no longer be tailgating at Dock 20. Click on the "Where" tab below for the details.

Click to enlargeOkay, it's official. We will no longer be tailgating at Dock 20. We placed a call to the Cleveland Port Authority and they confirmed that there will no longer be season parking passes available through the Browns for the Dock 20 lot. It turns out that the Browns and the Cleveland Port Authority engaged in some sort of pissing match and that the CPA has cut out the Browns so to realize all of the parking revenue from the Dock 20 lot. So, it looks like for the 2014 season and possibly beyond we will be moving to Dock 32. It's the yellow lot directly north of the stadium.  The Browns offered us a parking pass for Dock 32 based on the fact that we have held a pass in Dock 20 for so many years. The Browns have offered only a limited number of season parking passes for Dock 32 and those passes are completely sold out. If you don't have a season parking pass don't let that stop you from dropping in. Click on the map above for the location of Dock 32, our new tailgating home.

Boycott the "Pit Nazis"

On game day you used to be able to find us at the parking lot between W.3rd St. and W.9th St, most commonly referred to as "The Pit". Not any more. The attendants there have become a bunch of Nazis, "Pit Nazis" as they have come to be known amongst our crew. At $30 a pop for an average vehicle, The Pit is currently one of the most expensive tailgating lots. Beware, the price for anything other than a car or pickup can vary between $65 and $100. But what's worse is that, as of 2010, these bandits are charging walk-ins $5.00 per person just to hang out and pre-game with their friends. If that isn't bad enough, what's even worse is the list of rules which include "no throwing of footballs" and "no throwing of beanbags". Really? No footballs or cornhole at a tailgate? C'mon man.

That's why we encourage everyone to boycott The Pit and make a statement by hitting Network Parking where it hurts....in the bottom line. There are plenty of other lots to enjoy a brew and a bite before the game. There's nothing we would enjoy more than to see The Pit completely empty on game day.
